“Possessed of the sweetest voice and a composer of pretty, quirky wee folk songs, while Gina is blessed with an effervescent personality, she is deadly serious and all-in when it comes to performance and her craft. Definitely, one to watch”
Gina Davis is a Canadian folk musician whose songs feel like they’ve been lifted from a well-loved journal and set to music. With a voice that is both tender and steady, she draws listeners into stories that are deeply personal yet warmly universal, offering moments to slow down, settle in, and be carried off into her lush and whimsical universe.
Her debut album Field Notes (2022), recorded with award-winning guitarist-producer Marc Atkinson, found fans well beyond her home community- reaching radio audiences as far away as the UK. Since then, she has taken her songs into all kinds of settings, from an unforgettable night in Seattle performing with the 43-piece Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra while trapeze artists swept overhead, to intimate house concerts across the Pacific Northwest and California.
Her new EP Fledgling (2025) pairs lyrical intimacy with understated, luminous arrangements. Tracks like "Lightkeeper" and "Rocky Mountain Lullaby" have been praised for their heartfelt authenticity and the quiet cohesion of her ensemble’s playing, with her voice described as "endlessly comforting", and "just like Joni’s”
A multi-instrumentalist equally at home with a guitar, behind a drum kit, or singing lead, Gina is also an in-demand studio vocalist, and experienced educator with degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from the University of Victoria. Whether on stage at a festival, behind a microphone in the studio, or guiding a group of musicians through a new piece, she brings a mix of ease, focus, and joy. Her songs offer a space for reflection, connection, and delightful respite.
